Abstract

Sister City between Yogyakarta and Kyoto is one of the most active cooperation in Indonesia. This cooperation also covers various fields such as Academic, Economy, Culture and Tourism. The focus of this paper will be on the tourism sector program in 2015-2018, because Yogyakarta and Kyoto are famous for promoting tourism. Plus, in the span of 2015 to 2018 there was a significant increase in Japanese tourists coming to Yogyakarta. This makes the author Then, discussing the formulation of the problem How did the implementation of Cooperation between Special Region Yogyakarta and Kyoto in Tourism 2015 – 2018?" by using 2 theoretical frameworks, namely the sister city concept and cultural diplomacy. The purpose of this research is to know the implementation of sister cities program between Special Region Yogyakarta and Kyoto in Tourism on year 2015-2018. From the results of this research, it was obtained that there is cooperation related to Disaster Risk Management and Tourism Management, Promotion, and Information.
