Abstract
Management of Pharmaceutical Preparations is a cycle of activities, starting
from the selection, planning, procurement, storage and distribution required for
Pharmaceutical Services activities. Preliminary observations found several
problems in the management of pharmaceutical preparations in the Pharmacy
Warehouse of Muntilan Hospital. This study aims to determine the effectiveness
and efficiency of the management of pharmaceutical preparations at the Pharmacy
Warehouse of Muntilan Hospital in 2019.
This research is a non-experimental descriptive study. The data from the
study used quantitative data obtained retrospectively by looking at and tracing
documents related to drug management at the Pharmacy Warehouse at Muntilan
Hospital in 2019. The data obtained from all stages of managing pharmaceutical
preparations at the Pharmacy Warehouse at Muntilan Hospital were analyzed with
indicators of effectiveness and efficiency of management medicine using indicators
of the Indonesian Ministry of Health (2008) and Pudjaningsih (1996) which are
then compared with the standard.
The results of research to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the
management of pharmaceutical preparations showed: the selection stage, namely
the suitability of available drug items with the Hospital Formulary (85%); the
planning stage, namely the percentage of available capital / funds with the total
funds needed (101.32%) and the suitability of the procurement with the actual use
for each drug item (107.73%); procurement stage, namely the allocation of funds
for drug procurement (10.95%), frequency of invoice errors (0%), and frequency of
delays in payments by the hospital against a predetermined time (5.5 times); storage
stage, namely the percentage of physical compatibility of drugs with stock cards
(100%), TOR (Turn Of Return) (7 times), percentage of expired and / or damaged
drugs (0.1%), and percentage of dead stock (17.94%) , the distribution stage is the
percentage of drugs served (94.63%). From the results of this study it can be
concluded that there is suitability in the management of pharmaceutical
preparations at the stages of selection, procurement and storage. The unsuitable
stage is the planning and distribution stage.
