Abstract
Stroke is one of the main causes of death with a patient disability rate reaching
65%. Stroke results in sensory motor problems which can disrupt balance including
muscle weakness, decreased soft tissue flexibility, and impaired motor and sensory
control. The rehabilitation process takes a long time, so the patient experiences
boredom. This final project aims to make a balance trainer therapy device which
the balance level will be measured with a load cell sensor. Data were collected using
weights of 5Kg, 10Kg, 20Kg, and tested on humans whose results were compared
with digital scales. In testing with 5 kg weights, an average of 5.4 kg in the left load
cell and 4.95 kg in the right load cell. Then in testing with 10 kg weights obtained
an average of 10.42 kg in the left load cell and 9.73 kg in the right load cell. After
that, in testing with 20 kg weights, an average of 20.4 kg in the left load cell and
19.89 kg in the right load cell. This tool was successfully made and feasible to use
because it is able to measure the balance between the right and left legs. With this
tool, it is hoped that patients will be happier undergoing the rehabilitation process.
This tool makes the rehabilitation process more enjoyable and can be done at home
without having to be accompanied by a physiotherapist.
