Abstract
Harmonic interference with the electrical system occurs due to the use of
non-linear loads. Non-linear loads in library buildings such as LED lights,
computers, air conditioners, and elevators. This study was conducted harmonic
measurement on Sub Distribution Panel of Library building of Muhammadiyah
University of Yogyakarta which aims to know the value of harmonia in electrical
system with reference to IEEE 519-2014 standard. Measurement time is for 7
days from September 19, 2020 to September 25, 2020 with a measurement time of
24 hours and with a recording time every 30 minutes using the Power Quality and
Energy Analize METREL MI 2892 measuring instrument. The measurement
results showed that the highest current THD value was 38.73% and the highest
voltage THD was worth 5.90%, meaning that the harmonic value content in
muhammadiyah Library Building exceeded the standard limit of IEEE 519-2014
limit for current THD which is maximum 8% and maximum voltage THD limit of
5%. One of the impacts resulting from harmonics is economic losses. Based on
the results of the analysis in one year the losses caused by harmonics amounted to
Rp 673,116. To reduce the harmonic value can be done by adding active filter
installation on sub distribution panel branded Acrel ANAPF Harmonic Active
Filter Harmonisa with a size of 200 A as much as one unit.
