Abstract

Fraud in the implementation of elections often occurs in Indonesia, candidates for state and even regional officials often justify all means to achieve the desired power, one of which is by doing money politics. The fact is that the public already considers the practice of money politics to be something normal, the community is no longer sensitive to the dangers that will be caused by monay politics itself, so that everything goes on as if it is something that is normal and commonplace in society. However, it is different for the people of Murtigading Village, Sanden District, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta. Starting from the feeling of awkwardness and unrest in a handful of community groups who try to fight and eliminate money politics in every election of a leader. Then a Murtigading AntiMoney Political Village Movement (APU) was formed which was committed to rejecting money politics and became the first village in Yogyakarta, especially Bantul, to pioneer an anti-money politics village. However, it does not mean that Murtigading Village is free from money politics. This research uses qualitative research methods with descriptive analysis type, the primary data in this study through a process of in-depth interviews with several informants. Then the authors use secondary data from literature sources, journals, documents, and articles relevant to this research which are considered capable of answering the problem formulation. The theory used in solving the problems under study is political participation and program effectiveness. The use of this theory aims to determine the forms of participation of the Murtigading Village community in supporting the APU Village movement and to find out the effectiveness of the APU Village program in influencing the participation of the Murtigading Village community. The results of the research show that the community participates in every activity program organized by the APU Team. In addition, the community also provides criticism and suggestions and provides moral support, which aims to educate the public regarding the dangers of money politics. Meanwhile, the programs being carried out were not yet fully effective. Although public understanding of the dangers of money politics has improved, the community has not fully felt the positive impact of the programs implemented.
