PERAN ILMU PENCAK SILAT SETIA HATI TERATE DALAM PEMBENTUKAN AKHLAK MAHASISWA DI UNIVERSITAS MUHAMMADIYAH YOGYAKARTA

This study aims to (1) To find out the role of Pencak Silat school of Perguruan Pencak Silat Persaudaraan Setia Hati Terate in establishing morality of university students in Yogyakarta, especially in UMY. This research background is because there is a number of students of PSHT who do not have a good moral character in daily life due to lack of monitoring from both parents and the lack of moral guidance that the students get. This research used a qualitative descriptive technique with the inductive-deductive way of thinking on the subject of Pencak Silat Setia Hati Terate trainer. Data were collected by doing observation as the main method. While the interview is not structured as a support method. The results of this study show that: (1) the importance of the role of teacher/trainer to carry out its function as a parent, namely as a motivator, mediator, and facilitator because these three things are very influential on moral education of students. (2) the importance of giving advice and lofty knowledge in life. The importance of attention, advice and remind each other among students in doing the good deed in the world for the creation of good morality (akhlakul karimah) that will bring ourselves to life more beneficial and far from the ungodly act.
