Abstract

Background : The 6-hydroxy-2- (pyridine-2-il) -4H-chromen-4-on compound is a compound thought to have anti-inflammatory activity that is stronger than the previous compound, namely compound 1- (2,5-dihydroxifenyl) -3- pyridine-2-il-propenone. The 6-hydroxy-2- (pyridine-2- il) -4H-chromen-4-on compound has been shown to be synthesized using the Claisen-Schmidt method. However, the synthesis process is not running perfectly so further research is needed on the synthesis process for these compounds. This research is a literature review with descriptive analysis. The purpose of this literature review is to find out other synthesis methods that might be applied to synthesize 6-hydroxy-2- (pyridine-2-il) -4H-chromen-4-on compounds. Methods : The process of collecting journals is done by searching for journals based on topics related to the synthesis of flavone compounds, the synthesis of chalcone compounds, the synthesis of compounds with acetophenone derivatives as the raw material and so on. The selected journal is a journal that is full text and not less than 2010. The selected journal is then downloaded and checked one by one whether it is in accordance with the theme or not. Then, the journal is summarized so that it becomes a review and answers the problem formulations that have been determined Result : In this study, there were 5 journals that match the inclusion criteria. Based on these journals, it can be concluded that the synthesis of 6-hydroxy-2- (pyridine-2-il) -4H-chromen4-on compounds can be carried out using reactants in the form of aldehyde derivatives such as cinamaldehyde, halobenzaldehyde and others. As for the catalyst, it can be done using a catalyst in the form of a base or an acid such as KOH, tetrahydofuran and others. Conclusion : In this study, there were 5 journals that match the inclusion criteria. Based on these journals, it can be concluded that the synthesis of 6-hydroxy-2- (pyridine-2-il) -4Hchromen-4-on compounds can be carried out using reactants in the form of aldehyde derivatives such as cinamaldehyde, halobenzaldehyde and others.
