Abstract

:This study aims to analyze the effect of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Total of Population, Labor Force Participation Rate, and Human Development Index (HDI), toward income inequality in west Sumatera Province in 2015-2019. This research used secondary data panel of cross section (27 regiencies/municipalities in the province of West Sumatera) and time series (2015-2019). Whereas the FEM (Fixed Effect Model) approach were used to estimate the regression model. Regression result show that variabels Total Population have a negative and significant effect on income inequality between regions, the labor force participation rate has a positive and significant effect on inequality between regions, while the GDP and the Human Development Index have a positive and insignificant effect on income inequality between regions
