Abstract
Ulcer disease is a disease that can be overcome by doing self-treatment. The Indonesian Ministry of Health states that the incidence of ulcer disease in Indonesia has a percentage of 40.8% with 274,396 cases. East Borneo Province has an ulcer disease incidence rate of 59,254 cases and is included in the top 10 diseases at the health center level in East Borneo Province (East Borneo Health Profile, 2017). The results of the 2014 National Socio-Economic Survey show that the percentage of Indonesia's population undergoing self-medication is 61.05%. The high prevalence of ulcer disease in Indonesians is accompanied by a high percentage of selfmedication. These two things need to be supported by a good level of knowledge of ulcer selfmedication. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of ulcer self-medicated knowledge in Indonesian society on the island of Borneo. This study used an observational research with the cross sectional method. Samples were taken using non probability sampling technique with consecutive sampling method. The total number of samples that met the inclusion criteria was 125 respondents. Data were collected using a validated questionnaire and tested its reliability. The questionnaire was distributed using google form to all Indonesian people on the island of Borneo (West Borneo, East Borneo, South Borneo, North Borneo and Central Borneo). Data were analyzed descriptively to see the level of knowledge of gastric ulcer self-medication. The results of this study indicate that the level of self-medicated knowledge of ulcer disease in Borneo, 93 respondents (74.4%) had a good level of knowledge, 31 resp
