Abstract
Background: Leptospirosis is an acute infectious disease caused by Leptospira Interrogans species. Leptospira is a Pathogenic spesies, attacking animals and humans (zoonoses). Widespread throughout the world, especially in tropical regions such as Indonesia. At Yogyakarta, outbreaks occurred in 2010 and 2011. Leptospirosis is caused that animal urine that infected by leptospira then polluting the environment. Clinical symptoms of this disease are variated, from mild to severe (weil 'syndrome) that caused death. Leptospirosis is a systemic disease involving multiple organs, particularly in severe forms, so to support the diagnosis of leptospirosis needs laboratory testing one of them is SGOT / SGPT examination that has function to detect of Liver damage. Objective of study : Identify the corelation between increation of laboratory results SGOT SGPT and death in patients with leptospirosis Methods: This research is retrospective descriptive study with cross-sectional approach. Done by describing data SGOT and SGPT levels in patients with leptospirosis based on the facts recorded in the medical record. Results: The results showed that from 40 patients with leptospirosis were sampled. Using ROC curve, obtained that the cut of point are SGOT 91 U / L and SGPT 68 U / L. Mortality in patients with leptospirosis most were in male (82.5%) with the average age was 53 years. By using Chi-square analysis found that there is a significant relationship between increation of SGOT above the cut of point values (91 u / L ) on the status of death (p = 0.027, OR 4.33, 95% CI 1.15 to 16.323). SGPT can not be used as a predictor of mortality in patients with leptospirosis P = 0.167 (P> 0.05). Conclusion: The value lab with increation of SGOT above 91 u / L can be used as a predictor of mortality in patients with leptospirosis with the probability of death are 0.027 and 4.33 times higher than patients with leptospirosis whose have SGOT values less than 91 U / L.
