Abstract
This research is aimed to analyse: 1) the intensity of Quran reading of the students of Islamic religion education UMY (Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta) batch 2018. 2) the academic procrastination attitudes of the students of Islamic religion education batch 2018. 3) the effect of the intensity reading Quran on the academic procrastination attitudes of students of Religious Education Islamic UMY batch 2018. This is a descriptive research using a quantitative approach. The population of this research was 159 active students of Islamic religion education at UMY. The sample was 50 respondents who were selected using simple random sampling technique. The data collection technique was done through observation, questionnaires, and interviews. Descriptive analysis test and simple linear regression test were used to analyse the data. The results of the research indicate that: 1) the intensity of reading Quran of the students of Islamic religion education UMY batch 2018 is high. This is based on the SPSS output of the data described above with 50 samples of 159 active populations amounted to 100%. It can be concluded that the intensity of reading Quran of the students of Islamic religion education UMY batch 2018 is in a high category. 2) The academic procrastination attitude of Islamic religion education UMY batch 2018 is high. This is based on the SPSS output data described above with 50 samples from 159 active populations amounted to 81%. As for the high category, it is 98% and the medium category is 2%. It can be concluded that the procrastination attitude of the students of Islamic religion education UMY batch 2018 is in the medium category. 3) There is a significant effect of the intensity of reading Quran on the procrastination attitude of the students of Islamic religion education UMY. This can be seen in the regression test results of 0.000, the r table is significant (0.000 <0.05). The intensity of reading Quran affects the attitude of academic procrastination. It is seen from the results of the output that R square is 0.40 which means only 40%. The effect of the intensity of reading Quran on the academic procrastination attitudes of the students of Islamic religion education UMY batch 2018 is as much as 40%. The attitude of academic procrastination is also influenced by several other factors which are not described in detail in this research.
