Abstract

California papaya farming has the potential to be developed because it has high economic value. However, in its implementation, California papaya farming has experienced problems, one of which is due to a virus attack. The virus attacks papaya fruit that is ready for harvest, causing farms to experience crop failure. The purpose of this study was to analyze the cost, acceptance, and feasibility of California papaya farming in Setrojenar Village. The determination of the research area was carried out purposively and the sample was taken using the census method with a total sample of 40 farmers. The analysis of the results of the study was carried out by means of a feasibility analysis of the net present value (NPV), the net benefit cost ratio (Net B / C), and the internal rate of return (IRR). Analysis of costs and revenues obtained results of Rp. 39,469,776; Rp. 164,415,000. The feasibility analysis of NPV, Net B / C, and IRR shows the value of RP. 111,338,106; 9.25; and 56.36%. This value shows that california papaya farming in Setrojenar Village is feasible to cultivate because the NPV value is> 0 and Net B / C> 0, and the IRR value is> 1.5%.
