Public Diplomacy of Indonesia through 2018 Asian games in Jakarta-Palembang

The Asian Game is the largest sporting event in Asia. Every country in Asia certainly wants to host this event. In 2018 is the second time for Indonesia to host The Asian Games. Indonesia by hosting the 2018 Asian Games, takes the opportunity to recognize the culture diversity, beauty of nature and develop the country's economy. The focus of this paper will be on how Indonesia promotes tourism and cultural destinations through the 2018 Asian Games to achieve economic advantages. This makes the author Then, discussing the formulation of “What are the advantages of Indonesia from 2018 Asian Games?” by using 2 theoretical frameworks, namely National Interest and Public diplomacy. The purpose of this research is to know the advantages of Indonesia through 2018 Asian Games. From the results of this research, it was obtained that there are the long-term and short-term economic impact as well as national branding advantaegs by Indonesia after 2018 Asian Games.
