Abstract
The United Nation Security Council has a very important role in resolving conflicts. Every country in this world wants to becoming the member. Australia wants to take an advantages to joining United Nation Security Council in bid 2029-2030. Australia by joining the United Nation Security Council, takes the opportunity to Strengthened Australia’s Negotiating Leverage, Enhanced boldness with Australia’s alliances (United States and United Kingdom), Security Council “more relevant, active and interventionist in global and regional security challenges, and gained widespread international recognition and support. The focus of this paper will be on why Australia interested in joining United Nation Security Council and the impact for Australia. This makes the author then, discussing the formulation of “Why Australia interested in joining United Nation Security Council?” by using 2 theoretical frameworks, namely National Interest and Rational Actor Model. The purpose of this research is to know the advantages of Australia in joining United Nation Security Council. From the results of this research, it was gained that the National Interest of Australia Chapter 5 “Keeping Australia and Australians, Secure and Free” and Chapter 6 “Global Cooperation” will be achieved if Australia joining United Nation Security Council.
