Abstract
This research is focused on the strategy carried out by the Indonesian government towards the Javanese Surinamese ethnic group which is the Indonesian diaspora. The population of Javanese ethnicity in Suriname is quite large, some of whom have lived for a long time, besides bringing themselves, when moving to Suriname, Javanese ethnicity also brings their language and culture, preserves the culture of the area they come from and creates identity among each other so that between ethnic groups Java, Suriname and Indonesia have an attachment.
Suriname is a net-importer country, of which 80% of the needs of the people of Suriname are imported products from abroad, also adjacent to the Southern Caribbean, which has prospects as Indonesia's trade market. The Javanese Surinamese ethnicity as an ethnic minority will have the potential to support Indonesian products that have identical characteristics similar to theirs. In addition to the economic sector, Indonesia's diplomacy in Suriname also has an impact on international politics, Suriname often provides support for Indonesia in its candidacy in international forums, and also supports Indonesia's attitude towards policies in international forums.
developing socio-cultural aspects between the Surinamese Javanese, who is the Indonesian diaspora as a means of diplomacy, is expected to be suitable for Indonesia, which is a multicultural country with various ethnic groups and cultures, especially with the history of the Javanese tribe that is abundant in Suriname.
