Abstract
This study aims to examine the influence of various mixed materials on the speed of composting process and the quality of palm stem pulp compost and obtain the most effective mixed material in accelerating the composting process and producing quality palm stem pulp compost in accordance with SNI compost. This research was conducted by experimental method using single factor design compiled in Complete RandomIzed Design. The amount of mixed ingredients azolla, pulp tofu and gamal leaves added to the pulp compost stem palm based on the calculation of C / N ratio 30:1 As for the treatment as follows; A = (palm stem pulp 15 kg + azolla 12 kg + cane drops), B = (palm stem pulp 15 kg + tofu pulp 37 kg + cane drops), C = (palm stem pulp 15 kg + gamal leaves 13 kg + cane drops) and D = (palm stem pulp 15 kg + cane drops). The study consisted of 4 repeated treatments 3 times, so the total research unit was 12 experimental units. Observation parameters include temperature, color, moisture content, particle size, acidity degree, organic C content, total N content, C/N ratio value. At composting for 32 days, the mixed ingredients of azolla are most effective in speeding up the composting process of palm stem pulp. It can be seen that the azolla mixture has a black compost color that indicates that the compost is ripe and is in accordance with sni organic compost. In addition, the content of C/N ratio (2.53) is quite low and high NPK (1.91) is in accordance with sni organic compost.
