Abstract
The potential for natural disasters in Indonesia is still high because geographically, Indonesia is located between the meeting plates. One of the disasters that often occurs in Indonesia is landslides in mountainous areas and floods in land or lowland areas. Mobility constraints in the area, if one day a disaster occurs, it will be difficult to overcome. So it takes a vehicle with qualified mobility to reach all fields, namely by using a buggy car. The buggy car is a four-wheeled vehicle that can be operated in all terrains. One of the most important things so that the vehicle can be operated easily is the use of a differential on the rear wheel drive. In this final project, the use of a differential using a three-wheeled motor differential is then applied to the buggy car. The result of applying a differential on a buggy car is that the ratio of the differential is 3.45, which means that 1 wheel rotation is obtained from 3.45 rotations of the propeller shaft and drive pinion. Whereas in a transmission with an engine input of 1693 rpm in the first gear position, the output rotation of the wheels is 67 rpm, second gear is 112 rpm, gear 3 is 165 rpm and reverse gear is 49 rpm. So for the highest speed, gear 3 is obtained and for the lowest speed it is obtained by gear 1. The results of this differential installation have also been tested to equalize vehicle handling because it can divide the distribution of right and left wheel rotation when turning.
