Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to explore further about Japan's defense and security against the US-Japan Defense Guidelines agreement which is an agreement made by Japan and America. Especially in the revisions of the contents of the agreement in the 2015-2019 period. The relationship between Japan and the US continued because the United States wanted to create peace and stability in East Asia until an agreement was reached to revise the Japan-US Defense Guidelines in 1997. Where this revision was doubted because of the incompatibility of actions taken by Japan on the issue of Gulf War terrorism. /11. Then at the Security Consultative Committee (SCC) meeting to deepen military cooperation, a re-discussion of the 1997 Guidelines was also carried out. In 2015 a revision was also made on the defense cooperation mechanism between Japan and the United States, where this revision prioritized the expansion of military cooperation and information development. Japan and the United States which are the process of interpreting the role of the collective military between the two countries. Security is one of the important aspects of a country, but Japan's security is fully controlled by America with a treaty. Even though there were two revisions to the agreement, Japan was still allowed to have its own military but still followed the existing regulations.
