Abstract
Indonesia is a country where the majority of the population is Muslim. So that people's interest in halal medical needs is also a necessity, especially for Muslim communities. One of the icons of halal medical is the sharia hospital business. Syari'ah Hospital is a concept of combining conventional hospital business by incorporating several principles (rules / values) of Islam in terms of its products, services and management. This study aims to find out sharia principles, their application in the products, services, and management policies at Nur Hidayah Hospital Yogyakarta. Besides, it is also done to find out the legal provisions regarding sharia hospitals according to DSNMUI No. 108 / DSN-MUI / X / 2016. This study used empirical research methods, namely legal research in which the data were obtained from primary source or data were collected directly from the field. Among the data collection techniques were interview, documentation, and various sources or printed media. Then the data were analyzed by using qualitative descriptive analysis method. The results of this study show that sharia principles in sharia hospital business are the rule that become the basis for undergoing a shariabased hospital business in its management, services, and products by referring to the basic rules prescribed in the Al-Quran and Hadith. The Nur Hidayah Hospital in Yogyakarta is found a legal and formal Shari'ah-based business institution and it is endorsed by the National Syari'ah Council-Indonesian Ulama Council (DSNMUI).
