Abstract
Writing is one of the skills that should be developed in learning English. During this time of pandemic, students faced difficulty in improving their skills. Therefore, implementing peer feedback was believed to be one way to improve their skills. This study investigated students’ attitudes towards peer feedback and the implementation of peer feedback during the time of pandemic. The research question in this study is how students' attitudes towards the implementation of peer feedback during the pandemic and how the process of implementation of peer feedback during the pandemic. The participants of this study were students of the English Language Education in batch 2019. The instruments of this study are a questionnaire and interview guideline. Using mixed methods approach, this study collected data from 116 students from the questionnaire and 6 students from interview. The results of this study showed that there were several students’ attitudes towards the implementation of peer feedback. The several attitudes include peer feedback is useful, peer feedback is effective, peer feedback is more detailed, peer feedback cannot guarantee the accuracy, students are lack confidence in giving feedback, students prefer online peer feedback, peer feedback is different from the lecturers’ feedback, and students prefer lecturers’ feedback. In addition, students also explained the implementation of peer feedback they have experienced. There are several steps in implementing peer feedback, namely lecturers provide instructions and guidelines, students download friend's assignments via Myklass, students read friends' assignments, students provide corrections by giving highlights, then students put friends' files back in Myklass. The findings of this study are very useful to understand how students perceive the implementation of peer feedback during the pandemic period and how the process of peer feedback activities in the pandemic.
