Abstract

Curriculum is vital among the educational stakeholders. At the recent days, the government implemented curriculum 2013 which makes a lot of differences comparing to the previous one. This study aims at revealing the students’ perceptions on the implemented curriculum. The approach of this study uses qualitative method in which the interview was conducted to collect in-depth information. The participants of this study were the teachers who implemented curriculum 2013 at high school at Yogyakarta. The study found that there are various benefits perceived by teachers while implementing curriculum 2013 such as getting the students be more active, getting the teacher becomes the facilitator, the possibility for teacher to develop students’ soft skill, getting the students having more practice, and possibly to use the alternative media. On the other hand, it also has the obstacles perceived by teachers as follows: having inadequate facilities, getting difficulty to assess students, facing unmotivated students, and lacking preparations.
