Abstract
Imogiri – Dlingo road section is located in the tourism area of Mangunan,
Bantul Regency. This road section has the status of a provincial road with the
function of a primary collector road with hilly terrain so that the possibility of
traffic accidents. Therefore, this study aims to develop road geometry, both
horizontal alignment (AH) and vertical alignment (AV) on Jalan Imogiri – Dlingo
with reference to the 2020 Highways Regulation on Road Geometric Design
Guidelines. In particular, this study aims to identify the characteristics of the
accident, analyze the geometric relationship of the road with the accident, and
provide technical recommendations to improve the road geometric modeling using
AutoCAD Civil 3D 2015 software to create a safe road. Accident data from the
Bantul Resort Police shows that in 2020 there were 13 accidents. Based on the
results of a survey of the road geometry, it is certain that the number and lanes, the
number of lanes, and the width of the existing road on Jalan Imogiri – Dlingo are
in accordance with the Bina Marga Regulation (2020). The results of modeling with
AutoCAD Civil 3D 2015 software show that the Imogiri – Dlingo road has 24 AH
and 6 AV. However, modeling results with AutoCAD Civil 3D 2015 software show
21 curves have minimum radii that do not comply with the Highways Regulations
(2020). Based on the slope of the road, there are 3 slopes that do not meet the
requirements and 4 slopes that do not meet the critical length requirements.
According to the aspect of visibility, there are only 2 vertical curves that meet the
Highways Regulation (2020). The recommendations given through modeling are in
the form of reducing the number of AH to 8 curves consisting of 4 spiral-spiral
curves (SS) and 4 spiral-circle-spiral curves (SCS), and 9 AV consisting of 4 curved
vertical curves and 5 convex vertical curves.
