Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find that comprehensive international free trade such as the ASEAN-AUSTRALIA-NEW ZEALAND FREE TRADE AREA (AANZFTA) does not rule out the possibility that it will have a negative impact, especially for developing countries such as Indonesia, whose trade
balance has declined after ratifying the AANZFTA agreement in 2012-2018. due to Indonesia's non-compliance with Australia's TBT (Technical Barriers to Trade) and SPS (Sanitary and Phytosanitary) and economic differences
among member countries.
However, Indonesia and Australia are currently conducting negotiations through the Negotiating Group on Trade in Goods. In the negotiations there was an agenda for the Food Safety Cooperation Forum (FSCF) and Mutual Recognition on Food Standards aimed at developing countries (including Indonesia in it) being able to adjust and comply with SPS provisions in export markets and increase capacity to develop and implement SPS provisions in their own countries.
