Abstract
This research is dedicated and aimed to identify the role of the cash waqf
movement towards the waqf program of Peduli Indonesia (KALISA) in the efforts
of assisting societies affected by Covid-19 by conducting a study case at Indonesian
Waqf Board (BWI). This research used a descriptive method with qualitative
approach interviews and documentation. The primary data taken were the results
of the online interviews and observations. Whilst the secondary data were books,
journals, and other supporting references. The validity test was done through the
sources triangulation technique. The results of the discussion showed that the role
of cash waqf on the waqf program of Peduli Indonesia (KALISA) is designed and
focused to be able to assist societies who were affected by Covid-19 by emphasizing
the management and recovery process from the Covid-19 pandemic effects suffered
by the societies; as in the field of health, education, and social economy. During
the distribution of profit-sharing funds from the cash waqf KALISA, Central BWI
was assisted by its partners, those were: BWI branch East Java, LAZISMU, and
LAZISNU which also served as the Mauquf’alaih (those eligible to receive waqf) of
the KALISA program. Further, the funds generated from the waqf would be
distributed to 3 KALISA’s main programs, those were: Kalisa Darurat Ventilator,
Kalisa Lanjutkan Hidup Mereka, dan Kalisa Peduli Ulama Pedalaman.
