Abstract

Water is one of the sources needed by every living creature from humans to photosynthesis in plants. There are several factors that make water can be not in accordance with quality standards, one of the factors is the increase in the population because people can cause polluted water every day by disposing of household and industrial waste. Yogyakarta is one of the big cities in Indonesia that will not be separated from the problem of garbage. Yogyakarta has an integrated landfill (TPST) located in Ngablak Hamlet, Sitimulyo Village, Piyungan District, Bantul Regency. TPST is crossed by the Opak river which allows polluted water both from the tributary, the main river and from the pile of garbage. In this study focused on the water quality test of Opak river with parameters used, among others, chemical parameters namely Biologycal Oxygen Demand (BOD), Dissolved Oxygen (Indonesia), Ferrum (Damarany dkk.) and Power of Hydrogen (pH) and physical parameters namely temperature and smell. The results of the parameters that have been tested will be presented in the form of a spread map using Arc-GIS software that uses the Multiple Ring Buffer method. Multiple Ring Buffer serves as the formation of polygons or zones of data that has been input. From the results of the research that has been conducted obtained the highest value of BOD with the highest value of 13.5 mg / l and the lowest 4.5 mg / l, Fe levels with the highest value of 0.35 mg / l and the lowest 0.1 mg / l, pH with a value between 7.2 - 7.8 while for the highest DO value 4.4 mg / l and as low as 1.4 mg / l.
