Dampak Kegiatan Pertambangan Batu Bara Terhadap Kondisi Sosial-Ekonomi Masyarakat (Studi Kasus Kecamatan Batu Sopang, Kabupaten Paser, Kalimantan Timur)

The purpose of this study was to determine the community's perception of
the economic and social impacts of coal mining in Batu Sopang District. This type
of research is quantitative and qualitative with descriptive methods. The data used
are primary data obtained through distributing questionnaires to the people of
Batu Sopang sub-district and secondary data obtained from BPS. Respondents in
this study are people who live in Batu sopang sub-district, Paser regency, East
Kalimantan who live around the mining area with a total of 50 respondents who
are calculated using SPSS 22. The results of this study indicate that coal mining
has an impact on economic and social impacts. in Batu Sopang sub-district.
Coal mining creates positive impacts as well as negative impacts in every
sector of the economy and social sector. From the results of the analysis carried
out from the public perception that coal mining has a positive impact because the
results of the data analysis obtained by the community say that they agree with
coal mining, the community's economy has increased, the growth of various new
economies, improves people's lives, opens jobs for the community, and in terms of
infrastructure and facilities that are quite good. Meanwhile, from the public
perception, the negative impacts generated from mining are job competition,
pollution and increased unemployment in Batu Sopang sub-district due to the
large number of migrants looking for work.
