Abstract
The design in a mold design aims to determine the beginning of the product
before entering the production stage. The 8 cavity bottle cap molded design product is
made usingplastic material High density polyethylene (HDPE)which is hard, strong and
resistant to high temperatures.
The design used aims to measure the process level before entering the
production stage, in this case looking for the bestdesign runner and cooling . Produce
3 types of designs which will be selected the best one. Fordesign cooling using
conformal because it is easier to test using bottle caps. The software used in the design
is Autodesk Inventor 2016 and software simulation Moldflow Insight2015.
From the results of theanalysis moldflow insight, it shows that the results of
each design are that runner 2 and cooling 1 are the best after going through thestages
fill time and time to freeze, part. After knowing the optimal design results, it is
continued by entering indicators in the form ofdiameter runner, melt temperature and
molt temperature obtained from the table in HDPE and study literature. Produce a
design with a diameter of 10 mm melt temperature 180℃ and molt temperature 40℃,
by trying a loweron thesection the temperaturemolt temperature results can remain the
same time to freeze,parts fast trough.
