Pioneer of Gender Equality : The Evolution of Gender Equality in Europe

This research aims to know the reasons and efforts that caused the European Union to be able to make significant changes so that the gender equality rate is high. The research method used is qualitative research methods that are literature study and data analysis. This study found that the level of gender equality itself can be said to be high if it is above the average world inequality index with less gaps. The development of gender equality in Europe is made easier by the existence of the European Union whose institutions strongly support integration and common policies. Improvement is seen every year. This increase can be seen by the existence of the European Union's gender equality index. This increase can be seen by the existence of the European Union's gender equality index. The high level of gender equality achieved by the European Union and its still increasing development are influenced by 2 main causes. First, a gender regime that is able to increase gender equality, the second cause of the high level of gender equality in the European Union is the existence of women's movements (feminist) so that gender mainstreaming in the European Union can increase and the norms of gender equality are well spread.
