Abstract
Mercure Hotel Jakarta Batavia Building is one of the buildings that uses
electricity as a source of electricity from PLN. However, PLN is not necessarily able to
meet the demand for electrical energy continuously without any disturbance. To support
the building's electrical energy needs, a back-up system of electrical energy in the form of
a Generator Set is needed so that the electrical energy needed is maintained. When the
electricity from PLN goes out, the generator set will automatically take over the building's
electrical energy needs. If the electrical energy from PLN is normal, the generator will stop
working. Mercure Hotel Jakarta Batavia generator set has been working for a long time, so
it is necessary to analyze and evaluate the backup system to support the reliability of the
generator set. The research was conducted in February – March 2021 using quantitative
research methods with descriptive methods with primary and secondary data as data
collection methods. From the results of calculations that have been carried out by the
generator set system at the Mercure Jakarta Batavia Hotel, it is still in accordance with the
PUIL 2000 reference. The efficiency of the generator set is fairly low at 21.8% because the
generator load is very low.
