Abstract
This research was conducted with the aim of knowing how the patterns and
phenomena of the interaction of immigrant communities, especially the Javanese
with the indigenous Papuans, namely the Kokoda Tribe. This study uses primary
data obtained based on interviews with the Javanese and the Kokoda Tribe and
secondary data as data to strengthen the research analysis. The data is processed
and analyzed using qualitative analysis techniques.
The results of this study indicate that the Javanese transmigrant community and
the Kokoda Tribe community are the interactions of two groups that are unequal
both in terms of material and knowledge. The communication between the two
groups is not harmonious, which can be reflected in their daily life, as seen from
the Javanese people rarely visit Warmon Kokoda Village which is located behind
Makbusun Village, unless they go to look for animal feed and some of them have
plantation land which is located in around Warmon Kokoda Village.
