Abstract
Palliative care is a method used to improve the quality of life both in the treatment of wounds and other problems such as physical, psychological, social, and spiritual problems in patients and families. One way that nurses can do in facilitating palliative patients at the end of the patient's life is by conducting end-of-life discussions. The purpose of this study was to determine the perception of hospital nurses regarding the discussion of end-of-life preparation in palliative patients. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Collecting data in this study using in-depth semi-structured interviews. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a total of 3 participants. Analysis of the research data using opencode 4.03 software. The results of this study indicate that nurses' perceptions in the discussion of end-of-life preparation for palliative patients are influenced by several things, namely related to nurses' readiness for EOL, benefits of EOL, understanding of palliative care by nurses, nurses' perceptions of EOL, and topics of EOL. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that nurses' perceptions in the discussion of final preparation of palliative patients' lives can describe topics that are related to patient expectations, families and readiness in death.
