Program Bimbingan Perkawinan Dan Pencegahan Perceraian (Studi Kasus KUA Banjarnegara)

This research is conducted by the concern on the recently increasing number of divorce. Several factors considered ad the trigger of divorce are immature actions of both husband and wife, the lack of communication between husband and wife which lead to misunderstanding, or else, an economic gap. Besides, some cases are caused by early marriage and thus the spouses couldn’t yet well understand the essence and wisdom of marriage. Thus, they couldn’t save their marriage. This research aims to identify the significance of Marriage Counseling (BINWIN), a program that is expected to contribute to the prevention of divorce on the future bride and groom at the Religious Affairs Office (KUA) Banjarnegara sub-district. This research was descriptive qualitative research. Data were compiled through observations, interviews, and documentation. The research result showed that BINWIN at KUA Banjarnegara gave positive effects on spouses taking the program. This is due to the materials provided during the program which are said to be useful as guidelines on their households; which consequently avoid divorce and realize a well-maintained family and also a Sakinah mawaddah wa rahmah (peaceful, full of love and caring) family. On the other side, the hindrance of the BINWIN program at KUA Banjarmasin subdistrict is the limited infrastructure caused by the minimum budget and the lack of adequate human resources of the participants themselves which caused difficulties in understanding the materials when given in a too formal language. However, such a problem didn’t reduce the participants’ motivation in joining the program. They showed enthusiasm during the Question and Answer session.
