Abstract
Providing guidance in learning the Qur'an using Iqro' method of students
with special needs is different from normal students in general. Therefore, it is
necessary to have the right strategy in learning the Qur'an. This study aims to
determine the strategies applied by teachers in learning the Qur'an using Iqro'
method at SD Negeri Brajan, to determine the achievement of students with special
needs in reading the Qur'an, to determine the supporting factors and inhibiting
factors during learning. The research approach used was qualitative with
descriptive research type. The participants of this study were seven informants,
namely five teachers and two parents of students with special needs. This research
employed observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The data were
analyzed using data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results
of the study indicate that: (1) the implementation of the Iqro' method of learning
Al-Qur'an in SD Negeri Brajan applies a strategy according to students' abilities,
privately, and classically using the drill method (practice) with puzzle media and
tilawati props, and random group games. (2) the highest achievement of the results
of learning the Qur'an using the Iqro' method by students with special needs is the
Volume 3 Iqro' which is achieved in three to five repetitions of reading. (3) there
are supporting factors and inhibiting factors during the learning process, the
supporting factors are the existence of guidance outside of learning hours, good
communication between religious teachers and special supervisors, and parental
support. The inhibiting factors are the infra structures, the student condition, the
lack of teachers who teach Al-Qur’an, and the lack of teachers with training.
