Abstract

Simple rice planting tools already have some modifications and
improvements. The parts that have been modified are increasing planting capacity,
modifying work steps, modifying with the addition of a prime mover. In this study,
researchers modified a simple rice planting tool with the addition of a driving wheel
that adopted a transplater type rice planting tool with human power as the main
driver.
The design process for rice planting equipment in this study uses the VDI
(Verein Deutscher Ingeniure) 2221 design method. This design method includes
several stages, namely, concept design, creating an overall function structure,
making sub-function structures, making solution principles, combining solution
principles, making concepts. product in the form of a sketch.
The results of the research entitled re-design of a simple rice planting tool
with the addition of a driving wheel obtained a rice planting tool with dimensions of
170cm long and 120cm wide. the addition of 2 fin wheels with a diameter of 37cm, 4
gears power successors, 1290 plug/process capacity, can plant 208 in 1 process.
