Abstract

Samia cynthia is a poikilothermic insect, so environmental conditions
greatly affect its growth. The purpose of this study was to study the effect of
delayed on the pupal stage against the developmental time of each S. cynthia
stage and the number of eggs produced by adult (fecundity). The study was
conducted by storing S. cynthia pupae for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 days in a fridge at
5 °C. The results showed that storage time had no effect on the development time
of pupa and adult after receiving treatment tested. However, the length of
treatment affected the development time of the eggs, larvae, and pupae second
generations. The total number of eggs produced by the adult decreased as the
pupae were kept for longer.
