Abstract
Background: Smoking is one of the main problems that have not been solved until now. The
current smoking age group is not only dominated by adults, but there has also been an increase
in smokers at a young age. Therefore, it is important to know things that can prevent teenagers
from smoking or quitting smoking
Methods: This study uses a literature review which aims to determine the effect of PHW smoking
warning images on adolescents' desire to quit smoking and the effect that adolescents do not
smoke. The article selection process was carried out on 7 articles.
Results: Adolescents who have seen health warning pictorials or have been exposed to antitobacco advertisements tend to choose not to smoke. Pictorial health warning is considered a
strong deterrent, to deal with smokers. This is because it provides awareness of the dangers of
smoking or the negative impact of smoking.
Conclusion: The conclusion in this study based on a review of the literature that has been
presented by the researcher, it can be found that there is a relationship between the experience
of seeing the health warning pictorial on the desire of adolescents not to smoke and to stop
smoking.
