Abstract
Kebumen Regency as an area that has a lot of tile industry due to the large amount of clay reserves. However, mining is still being carried out in residential areas and agricultural land, especially irrigated rice fields. This causes damage to the residential environment and irrigated rice fields. This research purpose to mapping the clay mining area in Kebumen Regency. The method used is to process spatial data which is analyzed descriptively. The method of determining the location is based on the factors of slope, land height, prone to landslides, rivers, springs and water infiltration, forests and plantations, settlements, and agricultural land use. Each type of map needed is classified based on a score and is given a weight and then overlay. The results of this research in Kebumen Regency has three clay mining zones contained in a map, namely a potential mineable zone with an area of 5.758,63 Ha or 10,26%, a potential conditional mining zone with an area of 3.659,05 Ha or 6,52%, and a non-potentially mined zone with an area of 46.692,71 Ha or 83,22%. The existence of this zoning is as additional knowledge for the community, especially industrial players to find out whether or not potential areas are mined in order to minimize environmental damage to settlements and irrigated fields and assist the government in determining policies to minimize adverse events that occur due to clay mining.
