Abstract

This research aims at finding any information shared in Info Cegatan Jogja group, factors motivating citizens to join it, and factors restricting administrators of the group in maintaining Info Cegatan Jogja group. This research is a qualitative research resulting descriptive data. The techniques used in collecting data were observation and interview. The data analysis technique used was statistic descriptive technique. The results indicate that the information posted in Info Cegatan Jogja Facebook Group consists of crime information, traffic information, lost information, humanity information, and history information. The factors motivating citizens to join the group is the fulfillment of cognitive needs, affective needs, personal integration needs, social integration needs, and imagination needs. The factors restricting administrators in maintaining the group were most of people underestimating things, answering netizens’ questions, getting used to be called ‘Min’ daily, and becoming a venting place. Meanwhile, the supporting factors are having many family members and new close friends, and relieving stress obtained from working, and turning into up-to-date person.
