Abstract
Covid-19 is a new type of disease originating from the Sars-CoV-2 virus.
COVID-19 can be transmitted between humans through droplets. One form of
preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus is to maintain a distance between
individuals of at least 1 meter. In this research, a tool design will be made to help
maintain distance using the ESP8266 WiFi module that is already installed on the
NodeMCU board. The NodeMCU will be connected to the buzzer as an alarm and
the battery as a voltage source. NodeMCU works as an access point and station,
each NodeMCU will scan access points from other NodeMCU. The signal from
the NodeMCU access point called RSSI will be converted into distance. When the
distance between the NodeMCU access points is too close, the built-in LED on
the NodeMCU and the buzzer will activate, a sign that the distance between the
NodeMCU access points is too close. Tool testing was carried out in 2 places,
indoors and outdoors using 2 and 3 NodeMCUs. The tool will be placed in several
conditions to find out what conditions produce data with a small error value. From
the outdoor testing of the equipment with opposite, unobstructed and parallel
conditions, the highest error value is at a distance of 1.5 meters by -13%. In a
room with the same conditions, the largest error value at a distance of 1.5 meters
is -44.2%. When the tools are not facing each other or are blocked, the error value
obtained exceeds 100%.
