Abstract

Sound level meter is a test equipment to measure sound noise level. This tool is used to
measure noise intensity between 30–130 dB and from a frequency of 20-20000 Hz. Noise
is sound that is not needed and has a bad effect on the quality of life that comes from the
production process of certain tools. Noise generated can have a direct impact on human
health, affect work performance and be fatal to a patient, it is necessary to test the value of
the intensity of sound noise or sound pressure released to determine the effect on the
surrounding environment, especially in industrial and hospital environments. . Judging
from these problems, it is necessary to make a sound level meter with a proximity sensor
equipped with data storage to minimize the time when taking measurements and recording
as material for analysis and can determine the effect of distance on noise. This tool was
created with the aim, to prevent the results of adverse noise exposure, reducing the noise
level to an acceptable level. This tool is equipped with a sound sensor SKU: SEN0232 and
a distance sensor, namely the ultrasound distance sensor HC-SR04 to measure the distance
between the sound level meter and the object being measured as consistency of
measurement. In this sound level meter, it has an error value on the measurement tool with
the smallest error of 0.01% on the CR error and the largest error of 0.10% on the baby
incubator error, for the room error value with the smallest error of 2.2% in a quiet room.
and the biggest error is 0.5% in a quiet room with distance.
