Abstract
In laboratory examination, a tool is needed to separate a compound having
different molecular weight by utilizing centrifugal force and cold temperature.
Cold temperatures are needed to maintain the quality of a sample such as blood or
urine. For this reason, a Refrigerated Centrifuge is needed which is used to
separate and cool the sample so that the stability of the sample is maintained,
especially in certain samples. In this study, modification of the refrigerated
centrifuge was carried out at the motor speed regulated by PWM using a
microcontroller with a speed setting of 1500-4000 RPM. In setting the
temperature using the evaporator component with the refrigeration cycle method
at temperature settings ranging from 0 to 20 . Based on the results of the 3000
RPM speed measurement, the largest error value is 4%. While the results of
temperature measurements are known to have the largest error value of 6% at a
temperature setting of 10 . It can be concluded that the refrigerated centrifuge can
be used properly and is suitable for use because the error in the temperature and
RPM parameters is still within the tolerance range of ±10%.
