Abstract
Fetal heart rate (FHR) is very important because it is the main indicator of fetal life in
the womb. To detect FHR, a Fetal Doppler tool is needed with a reading of 30 to 60
BPM in increments of 30 BPM, which must be accurate. Therefore, the fetal Doppler
device must be calibrated using a fetal Doppler simulator. This aims to facilitate the
calibration process and find out whether the fetal Doppler device is still feasible or not.
In this study, a fetal simulator device using a DC solenoid will be designed which will
output the sound of a heartbeat every minute, namely 60, 90, 120, 150, 180, and 240
BPM. The sound output is generated from the mechanical part which is then displayed
on the nextion tft LCD.
To determine the performance of the tool, a test was carried out by comparing the
measurement results between the TA module and the Fetal Simulator then measuring
the setting value on the TA module with the measured frequency on the oscilloscope.
From the results of testing the largest relative error is 2.2% at the measurement point
of 180 BPM. Then the results of the largest relative error when compared with the
results of the oscilloscope frequency are 1.25% at the measurement point of 120 BPM.
The design of the fetal Doppler calibration tool can be used and functions properly
because the error value or relative error is below ± 5%
