Abstract

The Penanding - Pagar Gunung road is one of the roads in Central Bengkulu Regency. Traffic on this road is not too congested, but along with the development of economic growth, the mobility of goods has increased. This causes more loaded vehicles to cross the road segment. The incompatibility of the pavement thickness with the vehicle load received by the Penanding - Pagar Gunung road section causes the damage. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the Penanding - Pagar Gunung road section, so that it can provide comfort and safety for the users of the road section. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the thickness of the pavement according to the load received. The method used in this study is the component analysis method with the KENPAVE program to analyze the stress and strain values. In the calculation using the component analysis method, the thickness of the overlay for standard loads and overloads is 6 cm with Asphalt Macadam material. The results of the analysis obtained from the KENPAVE program is a horizontal tensile strain of 0.0001532 with a permissible load repetition of 2059856.063 ESAL and a vertical compressive stress of 0.0008858. with the repetition of the permit load of 63373,95778 ESAL for standard loads and excess loads. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the pavement design of the Penanding -Pagar Gunung Road is declared safe against damage due to fatigue cracking and rutting. This is based on the fatigue cracking and rutting values greater than the repetition value of the design load (CESA).
