to increase the advent of the foreigner tourists. This thesis is qualitative descriptive narrative
model that seeks to trying to describe Indonesia’s strategy in carrying out public diplomacy
activities and initiatives. Author finds the organizing of the 18th Asian Games as follows:
marking Indonesia’s brand, signaling a positive image, promoting Indonesian continent
according to Indonesian policy, and encourage national cohesion and pride. While Indonesia
was able to attract attention, signaling messages, and legitimize their policy during the Asian
Games, consistent and sustainable policies are still needed to strengthen and improve
Indonesia’s position, especially to increase the advent of tourists, both internationally and
