Abstract
Concrete is a material that is often used in building construction. The
development of concrete technology is currently very rapid, resulting in many
innovations from concrete mix materials. Utilization of waste rubber tires is one of
the environmentally friendly concrete innovations. This study uses rubber tire
crumb waste with variations of 0%, 20% and 40% of the volume required for fine
aggregate to determine the value of the flexural strength of reinforced concrete
beams. The research method used is an experiment using 3 specimens of reinforced
concrete beams measuring 200 cm × 10 cm × 10 cm, with a diameter of 4.9 mm of
main reinforcement and shear. Treatment of test objects wrapped in plastic for 28
days. The flexural strength test of concrete is carried out with 2 loading points in
accordance with the provisions of SNI 4431:2011. The highest flexural strength
value is found in the variation of the 20% rubber tire crumb mixture, which is
13.864 MPa. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the variation
of rubber tire crumb at a maximum content of 20% can increase the value of the
flexural strength of concrete, but the addition of variations of rubber tire crumb at
a level of 40% can reduce the value of the flexural strength of concrete.
