Abstract
Two-phase flow is one part of multi-phase flow. Multi-phase flow is a flow that has several phases flowing simultaneously. In this research, an experimental study of the two-phase flow pattern in the mini-pipe has been carried out. The purpose of this study was to obtain primary data on flow patterns and the effect of differences in glucose concentration on flow patterns. The primary data taken is the video flow pattern. This research was conducted using a test section in the form of a mini pipe with a diameter of 1.6 mm and a length of 130 mm with a slope of 60⁰ to the horizontal position. The working fluids used are gas and liquid, air as the gas phase and 0.9% sodium chloride solution with different glucose concentrations, namely 5% and 10% as the liquid phase. By varying the superficial gas velocity (JG) = 0.083 – 74.604 m/s and the liquid superficial velocity (JL) = 0.041 – 4.145 m/s. In this study using the visualization method with the MOV program and then processed using the Virtualdub application to get good flow pattern results. The results of the flow patterns obtained from this study are: Plug, bubbly, annular, slug annular, and churn. The flow pattern that is formed is then justified and then mapped based on the superficial velocity. The results of the flow pattern map are compared with the flow pattern map of previous studies.
