Abstract

The Korean Wave is the spread of popular culture through
entertainment products originating from the Republic of South Korea,
the first time that occurred when the Korean Government used its
country's culture as a tool used as soft power. The Korean Wave is not
only an instrument to showcase culture, but also a strength for South
Korea in improving its economy. This paper describes the results of
the research that were found that how South Korea's policy was
behind the achievements obtained through the Korean Wave in
Vietnam. This is what makes the author then discuss the formulation
of "How is South Korea's policy to achieve the implementation of the
Korean Wave in Vietnam?" by using the theory of Multi Track
Diplomacy. From the results of the study it was found that with the
Korean Wave bilateral relationship between South Korea and Vietnam
going well through the Free Trade Agreement, cooperation with
business actors in several sectors such as cosmetics or entertainment to
carry out business projects in Vietnam and also cooperation with
several institutions to train Korean languange in Vietnam.
