Abstract

Financial inclusion has become a global agenda. This study uses Global Findex 2017 microdata covering 1,000 respondents in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the factors that influence individuals in the use of financial technology. Logistic regression method was used to analyze the effect of individual characteristics (gender, age, education, income level, and work status) on the use of financial technology in Indonesia. Samples were taken using a purposive sampling technique, namely sampling based on the required characteristics (Latan & Temalagi, 2013). The results of this study indicate that: age has a significant and negative effect on the use of fintech in Indonesia. education and income level have a significant and positive effect on the use of fintech in Indonesia. Meanwhile, gender and employment status have no significant effect on the use of fintech in Indonesia. This research can be a reference for policy formulation for the government and financial institutions related to the inclusiveness of the use of Financial technology (Fintech) that can encourage financial inclusion, especially in Indonesia.
