Abstract

This study is entitled"The Pre-Marital Guidance Strategies for Bride Candidatesto
Achieve Sakinah MawadahWarohmah Family at KUA Umbulharjo District". There
have been cases of family experiencing divorce of which there was2-percent increase
compared to the previous year during the Covid19 pandemic. The purpose of this study is
to create a family that is sakinah(harmonious)mawaddah(affectionate) warohmah
(affectionate), overcome obstacles during the pre-marital counseling process and reduce
the increase in divorce. This study uses a qualitative approach that requires interaction
with the research subjects, so that researcher can obtain natural data. The data collection
techniques are observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study
indicate that the strategy used in pre-marital guidance at KUA Umbulharjo District is a
socialization strategy and pre-marital guidance process using two individual methods or
face-to-face and group methods.
