Abstract

Phase were the condition or form of a substance, which were solid, liquid,
and gas. A multiphase flow (multiphase flow) were the simultaneous flow of several
phases. A two-phase-flow were the simplest of the multiphase streams. Sis one
important parameter in the flow of two phases in the mini pipe, namely the value of
the hollow fraction. The purpose of this study was to obtain hollow fractional values
in blood vessels that contain various fluid mixtures that enter the human body and
obtain primary data on flow patterns against the influence of high concentrations
using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations.
Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation were one method that
were efficient in terms of financing because this process only uses hardware and
software that can then be used as an investment for future researchers. Geometry
using Solidworks 2020, mesh creation using Pointwise v18.3 R1 and getting
Skewnes <0,7. The simulation was conducted with variations in gas and liquid
superficial speeds for plug JG 0.829, JL 0.041 m/s,Bubbly JG 0.083 JL 1,243
m/s,Churn JG 8,289 JL 1,243 m/s and Annular J G 49,736 JL 0.041 m/s.
The simulation was conducted using the volume of fluid (VOF) model of
ANSYS Fluent 2020 R1 software using 2-dimensional (2D) geometry. The result
obtained from this simulation were that the value of the hollow fraction increases
along with the increasing J G variation in the test section. The increase in the
average area value of the highest hollow fraction occurs in the Annular flow
pattern with a value of 0,95 this were due to the JG value which were quite high
inthe churn flow pattern with a value of 0, 74, plug flow pattern 0, 1 9 and the lowest
hollow fraction value were in the churnflow pattern with a value of 0,74, plug flow
pattern 0,19 and the lowest hollow fraction value were in the pattern bubbl flow
with a value of 0,113.
